Miyah Brown signs her letter of intent to play basketball at Bellarmine

Winnebago senior will play basketball at Bellarmine.

WINNEBAGO (WREX) — Winnebago senior Miyah Brown made her college commitment official, signing to play basketball at Bellarmine. It's an NCAA Division I school in Louisville, Kentucky. Signing before tipping off her senior season is a big relief for the All-State talent.

"It's very nice," Brown said. "I can go into the season calm, collected and don't have to worry about my future. Just to have everything straight to now is just a nice feeling."

Brown has played varsity basketball since her freshman year with the Lady Indians. Her game has come a long way since then, thanks to a lot of hours in the gym.

"It's all the hard work just paying off," she said. "It's been a long journey and just to have it all pay off just means the most to me."

Bellarmine made the switch to DI last year. Brown is excited about her collegiate opportunity, but looks forward to this season for one last run with her Lady Indians. They play in the Forreston Thanksgiving Tournament later this week.
