IceHogs double up Wolves, 6-3

ROCKFORD (WREX) — After falling behind early, the Rockford IceHogs evened the score and eventually took the lead in the 3rd period, with a couple of empty-netters lifting them to a 6-3 win over the Chicago Wolves.

The Wolves scored two goals in the first eight minutes of the game, but the IceHogs evened the score with a power play goal from Brett Connolly and a short-handed goal from Josiah Slavin.

The teams traded goals in the 2nd period, leaving it tied at 3 after two. In the 3rd period, Rockford's Lukas Reichel scored the game-winning goal, with Evan Barratt and Garret Mitchell tacking on empty-netters to give the 'Hogs the 6-3 win. Rockford will travel to Rosemont to face the Wolves again Saturday night.
