ROCKFORD (WREX) — The boys high school basketball season begins this week, with the RPS 205 Tip-off Classic serving as one of the big Thanksgiving week tournaments in the area. In the first game of the tournament, Larkin defeated Guilford, 78-66. Larkin led by 19 points in the 4th quarter, but Guilford stormed back to cut it to a 5-point game with a couple of minutes remaining before the Royals iced it at the free throw line. Bryson Hodge led the Vikings with 29 points, as Guilford played without Malachi Johnson.

In the 2nd game of the night, Jefferson jumped out to a 22-2 lead against DRW Prep, as the J-Hawks cruised to a 74-25 win.
