SYCAMORE, Ill. (WREX) — A new escape room is opening in Sycamore and the owners are Rockford High School graduates and current DeKalb County residents.

Kevin Bunge, the owner of a Civil Engineering Firm, and his family are opening "Syco Escape Rooms," at 1170 DeKalb Ave., near Sycamore High School.

The escape room will feature three different rooms, including a baseball themed room, a medieval throne room and a prison break themed room. The room themes will then be cycled every 6-12 months. Bunge says they hope to add an additional two rooms, for a total of five rooms.

Rooms will vary from 300-500 square feet.

Bunge and his wife are from Rockford and graduated from Guilford High School in 1980 and 1981, respectively. The family moved to DeKalb County in 1986.

Bunge is also the Village Engineer for Rockton, Cherry Valley, Creston and Timberlane.

The family says they hope to be open in February. For more information, click here.
