ROCKFORD (WREX) — Three months after the original opening day, a Rockford restaurant has officially held its grand opening.

Ronit’s Kitchen located inside the Indoor City Market in Rockford celebrated its grand opening on Saturday.

The restaurant has been officially open since May 24th and specializes in Mediterranean Cuisine with Middle Eastern, Israeli flavors.

The restaurant’s owner, Ronit Golan, says she’s been a physical therapist for 30 years, but after six years of her booth at the outdoor City Market, she realized it was time to make her long-term dream of owning her own restaurant a reality.

“After 30 years of physical therapy,” said Golan, “I decided it’s time to do something else that I am passionate about, so.”

Golan says the restaurant will soon begin offering pre-cooked, take-home meals.
