Six arrested, crack cocaine recovered in downtown Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Numerous complaints of drug dealing in downtown Rockford has led to the arrest of six people.

The Rockford Police Department says they've received numerous complaints of drug dealing in the 600 block of E. State St. and have focused efforts on the area.

Officers conducted an enforcement detail in the area on Tuesday and made multiple arrests:

  • Freddie Dismuke, 58, warrant for failure to appear (aggravated battery)
  • Michael Ward, 29, possession of cannabis and intent to deliver cannabis
  • Darius Crayton, 32, possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Jaron Burden, 34, illegal transportation of alcohol
  • Christopher Persaud, 39, possession of crack cocaine
  • Marcus Brint, 53, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance

Police say enforcement efforts will continue in that area.
