BELVIDERE (WREX) — A Rockton man is charged with multiple counts of home fraud.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says Kirt Johnson, 44-years-old from Rockton, was arrested Friday, charged with two counts of Aggravated Home Repair Fraud, a Class Two Felony, and two counts of Felony Theft.

According to the Sheriff's Office, detectives have been investigating Johnson since last year. They were investigating multiple home repair scams allegedly caused by Johnson, targeting victims over the age of 60.

Johnson was previously arrested last month on another Aggravated Home Repair Fraud charge, alleging he took more than $100,000 from three victims.

The Sheriff's Office says a class two felony carries a prison sentence of between three and seven years. The investigations into Johnson are still ongoing.

Johnson was taken to the Boone County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office asks anyone who was a victim of Johnson's or any other home repair scam to call them at (815) 544-2144.
