Man killed in Jonathan Ave. shooting identified by authorities

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The Winnebago County Coroner's office has identified the man who was shot and killed last week on Jonathan Ave.

The coroner's office identified the man as 28-year-old Louie Lee. 

The shooting happened in the 2400 block of Jonathan Ave. last Tuesday night. Lee was taken to the hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the shooting, the coroner's office says.

The shooting was the first of three separate shootings last Tuesday night. In total, 6 people were shot that night with two dying from their injuries. 

38-year-old Charles Gholson died after being shot in the 400 block of S. Independence Ave.

The shooting on S. Independence Ave. was the third of the three shootings that night.
