What to bring when you apply for a mortgage

If you are buying an existing home:

  1. A signed and accepted Offer to Purchase (including all amendments, counter-offers, and Real Estate Condition Report)

If you are building a home:

  1. Plans, specifications, cost breakdown, and signed builder contract for new construction
  2. Evidence of sale of your current home, if applicable
  3. A list of all account numbers for your savings and checking accounts, IRAs, 401(k) or Keogh plans, and verification of any other investments such as real estate, stocks, bonds, or money market accounts
  4. A list of all your debts and creditors, including all your credit cards and account numbers
  5. Copies of your last two months' bank statements
  6. Two years' signed Federal Tax Returns and W2 forms from each employer
  7. Your two most recent paycheck stubs
  8. If you are divorced or separated, a copy of your divorce decree and evidence of any income or obligation
