UPDATE: The Stephenson County Coroner's Office has identified the victim who was found dead in a creek in Freeport.
Officials say that 45-year-old Timothy Kuehl is the victim.
The coroner's office says there were no signs of foul play.
The body was found on Tuesday in Yellow Creek, near Krape Park.
The death is still being investigated.
The Freeport Police Department is investigating a suspicious death after a body is found in a creek.
Officers received a call Tuesday about a body found in Yellow Creek, near Krape Park, according to Freeport Police. Officers found the body of an adult white man about 50 yards east of the Demeter walking bridge.
Police, the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office and the county coroner are working on identifying the man and notifying the family.
The cause of death is still under investigation as the autopsy is pending.
