UPDATE: Missing Alzheimer's patient missing in Belvidere has been found and is OK


UPDATE: The Belvidere Police Department has confirmed with 13 WREX that the missing woman has been found. 

Belvidere Police told 13 News that 77-year-old Kathleen Humphreys was found "alive and safe" after her family reported her missing on Tuesday. 

Police say that she was found in Kirkland late Tuesday night at a Casey's Gas Station. An employee of the gas station said Humphreys came into the store asking for directions. The employee then called the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office. 

Humphreys family was notified and picked her up. 

A woman with severe Alzheimer’s disease is missing and the Boone County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding her. 

Kathleen Humphreys was reported missing by family members Tuesday. The 77-year-old was last wearing white plaid pajamas. She left her home on the 10000 block of Briarwood Court in Belvidere around 6:30 p.m. Police say she was driving a white 2007 Buick Lacrosse with Illinois license plates E491480.
