New opportunities, that's what young adults with disabilities are looking for here in Rockford.
Several people gathered Tuesday night at Katie's Cup, to have a community conversation about services for young adults with disabilities.
Studies report that 70% to 80% of people who have disabilities, do not participate in any community activities.
This talk hopes to find ways for those people to engage in community life, be able to have a job and be apart of community clubs.
It's all about finding their own gifts, and sharing them in ways that will make their community better.
"There are a lot of people that have many gifts that they want to share, and sometimes they just need a little invitation. Sometimes they just need a welcoming opportunity." said Wendy Partridge, the Director of "Heroes of the Game" and Director of "Life Like Any Other" grant
The group says it plans to have more conversations like this in the future.
