Rockton native Corey Anderson returned to the UFC octagon for the first time since a devastating November knockout, and rolled to a unanimous decision against Patrick Cummins in Atlantic City.
Part of the preliminary fight card at UFC Fight Night in New Jersey, Anderson set the tone from the opening bell of the three-round bout, bloodying Cummins, and taking him down throughout the fight. He effectively used his jab and wrestling technique to close off any openings from his light heavyweight opponent.
The victory snaps a two-loss losing streak for Anderson, who improves to 11-4 as an MMA fighter. The win is especially sweet for "Overtime" after a third-round knockout at the hands of Ovince Saint-Preux in November, his most recent fight before returning to action.
