New employees at SwedishAmerican Hospital are set to get training that can help them save lives and it's thanks to a grant the hospital received.
The Workforce Connection granted SwedishAmerican $166,000 dollars to implement a new patient records system. The money will also help cover training nearly 3,000 staff members employed by Swedes. The training will allow all staff members to easily access patient information on one system.
"There's significant training dollars associated with the epic initiative and $166,000 goes along way to offset the total cost that we will encourage to do this." said Jerry Guinane, the Vice President of Human Resources at SwedishAmerican Hospital.
Training will begin this week and will go all the way through June.
