The extended cold pattern will keep this April feeling like early March, which sets us up for more wintry precipitation later this week.
The showers may start out as freezing rain early Wednesday morning as surface temperatures will be below freezing. Rain may freeze to any untreated surfaces, so be aware that conditions may be slick in spots during the early morning.
The weather should change to rain showers fairly quickly during the morning, with rain falling throughout the remainder of the day. By the evening, as temperatures cool off again, a rain/snow mix is possible.
With both rounds of potential icy weather, accumulations should be at a minimum, but again watch out for icy conditions.
The weather stays cold through Thursday, then slowly warms back to spring-like levels late this week.
