Freshway Foods recalls chopped romaine lettuce from Schnucks stores following an outbreak of E. coli bacteria.
The company issued the recall after 35 cases of E. coli were reported in 11 states. One of those cases was in central Illinois.
Schnucks customers who have bought or eaten romaine lettuce from a self-serve salad bar can return their product to the store for a full refund.
Health officials say the contaminated lettuce is from Yuma, Arizona.
If you have bought chopped romaine lettuce that's grown in that region or if you're not sure, officials say you should not eat it and throw it away immediately.
