UPDATE: Rockford Police arrest a 19-year-old man accused of shooting a mother and her baby, Friday night.
Police say officers arrived to the 2200 block of S 5th Street around 7:20 p.m. for a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old mother and her 10-month-old baby suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
During the investigation, police say they identified 19-year-old Tyrone Anderson Jr. as a potential suspect.
Shortly after, police arrested Anderson. He faces several charges including aggravated battery with a firearm.

Two people are shot in Rockford Friday night. That's according to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office.
It confirmed police and deputies were responding to the shooting in the 2200 block of S. 5th Street.
The sheriff's office's K9 unit is also on scene.
Details are still limited at this time. There is no information available about the ages of the victims. Their injuries are non-life threatening.
