Charter bus shooting suspect Raheem King in police custody
ROCKFORD (WREX) -
Winnebago County court records show Raheem King, the man police say shot and killed three people in a charter bus early Saturday morning, is now in custody.
Rockford Police are expected to hold a news conference at 7 p.m. with an update on the case, but did not provide any further details.
Rockford Police Chief Dan O'Shea says police responded to the the 400 block of North Springfield Road around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived on scene they found three people who had died from gunshot wounds inside the private charter bus.
During the preliminary investigation, officers determined King was on the bus at the time of the shooting, which is believed to have happened in the area of Auburn Street and Johnston Avenue. King ran from the scene and had been on the loose until today.
