At Monday's City Council meeting aldermen laid over a vote on a federal Head Start grant application.
In the proposal, Head Start staff says the goal is to increase the number of children receiving care in the prenatal to age three category as well as increase the number of children receiving full day services.
Head Start officials say this will be accomplished by increasing partnerships and relocating some resources. However, this means some city staff positions would be reduced as a result of these expanded partnerships. After questions were raised by aldermen for more information, the vote was laid over.
