Medical students treated breast cancer survivors to a day of pampering and relaxation in Rockford on Saturday.
It's called Brave Beauties.
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford started the annual event five years ago.
And this year, the second floor of the medical school turned pink for nearly 60 survivors and their families .
The day included free makeovers, massages and crafts for these beautiful women.
It's just a few things organizers say can help provide some relief from a tough battle.
"Being on this positive side of thing, where we get to say, 'hey this isn't all bad," said organizer and medical student Christina Overmann. "You can come here and enjoy this day of relaxation without having to worry about your cancer diagnosis, and feel beautiful again because cancer takes a lot out of you."
Student organizers say they look forward to hosting Brave Beauties again next March.
