The Harlem Lady Huskies girls bowling team proved to the rest of the state that the queens of strikes and spares reside in Northern Illinois, winning the 2018 IHSA state championship in convincing fashion. The Lady Huskies won the team title by 419 pins.
Rebecca Hagerman won individual gold medal honors by 67 pins with 2,669 pins over the course of the two-day state series at Cherry Bowl. Teammate Kayla Verstraete earned medalist honors as well, finishing 8th for Harlem. Seniors Treasure Childs and Stephanie Richards ended their high school careers as back-to-back state champions.
Freeport finished fifth in the team standings, with Madison Wallace finishing 9th individually. Guilford took home a top ten finish, placing 9th.
Belvidere North senior Brynn Lambrecht ended her high school career with medalist individual honors before she continues her career at Nebraska next year.
