The downtown Rockford Public Library officially has a new location, or at least a temporary one.
This is the Hart Interim Library at 214 North Church Street.
A ribbon cutting celebrated the completion of the move-in from the old downtown library.
The former building on North Wyman Street is getting demolished, but it will be several years before a new library is built in its place. In the meantime, the library say it's making the best of its new space.
"We actually expanded the young adult zone from the old library and so that's open all hours now so we were very careful to take the things that were well used and to bring them here and to have those resources here," said RPL Executive Director Lynn Stainbrook.
The library wants your input later this year about what you want the new library to include in it, once it's ready to be built.
