Wednesday is the big day — and hopefully you didn't forget. It's Valentine's Day and local florists are already feeling the rush.
Pepper Creek in Rockford says Valentine's Day is their busiest time for flower orders of the year.
And with all the orders, they say it's all hands on deck and have to bring in all full and part-time employees and hire extra drivers.
It's a job they say they take seriously.
"We feel like it's a big responsibility. I mean they are putting their trust in us to get pretty flowers that say the right thing, and it's 'I love you' on Valentine's Day," says owner Vicki Hubbard.
Hubbard says roses are by far the most popular flower this time of year. However, she says people keep it old school with stuffed animals, and that carnations are a long-time favorite.
