A 17- and two 18-year-olds are arrested after police found them in a stolen car on Tuesday in Rockford.
According to the Rockford Police Department, Tre’Quan Stamper-Ashford, 18, of Rockford, Darel Harrison Jr., 18, of Rockford and a 17-year-old boy were in the area of Broadway and 19th Street when patrol officers tried to pull the car over, which was reported stolen out of Freeport. The suspects kept driving and while officers didn't pursue, according to police, the car crashed into a yard at the 2300 block of 18th Avenue. Four suspects took off on foot and three were taken into custody.
Officers found a handgun inside the car.
Stamper-Ashford and Harrison Jr. were taken to the Winnebago County Jail and the 17-year-old was taken to the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center.
