If you had plans of voting early in Rockford for this year's primary election, it is delayed.
Early voting will start on February 21 which is the same day that grace period registration and voting also begin.
Originally, the state legislature moved the early voting date to February 8. However, the Rockford Board of Elections says there are court hearings scheduled after this date. It goes on to say that the petition case at issue is not from Rockford or Winnebago County.
It involves the statewide Democrat candidacy of Scott Drury for Attorney General.
If you wish to vote before the 21st, you can vote by mail.
