A North Dakota woman is sentenced to life in prison, without parole, for the murder of her pregnant neighbor.
Thirty-eight year old Brooke Crews pleaded guilty to killing 22-year old Savanna Greywind back in August, so her and her boyfriend could have Savanna's baby.
Greywind was eight months pregnant and was alive when Crews cut her open and took the baby.
Prosecutors say Greywind died from blood loss. Her body was dumped in the Red River.
The baby was found alive in Crews' apartment that she shared with her boyfriend.
Ashton Matheny, the baby's father, says learning how his baby was born and his girlfriend died tore him apart.
"Out seven year anniversary is coming up on March 20," said Matheny. "Everyday, I am reminded of her more and more because everyday she grows, she starts to look more like her mother."
Crews' boyfriend, William Hoehn, has pleaded not guilty. His trial is set to begin May 15.
