Boys Bowling Postseason Underway in Regional Round


The 2018 IHSA boys bowling postseason is officially underway, with teams competing at regionals this weekend for a spot in the sectional round.

The Viking Lanes regional, hosted by Hononegah in South Beloit, sent Hononegah, Harlem, Guilford, and Rockford Christian to the DeKalb sectional as the top four team finishers. Boylan's Matt Fleege won individual regional champion honors with a 1463 score. He'll be joined by these other individual qualifiers:

-Nick Fuller (Boylan)

-Justin Bragg, Jonathan Powell, Nole Hefty (Belv. North)

-Mason Robbins, Zach Montgomery (Lutheran)

-Kevin Jenks, Greg Suthers (Belvidere)

-Cullan Boeck (South Beloit)

Sycamore also hosted a boys bowling regional, with Freeport, Auburn, Sycamore, and Rochelle advancing as teams. Ty Collalti of Freeport was individual regional champion with a 1390 score. Other advancing sectional qualifiers from this regional:

-Landen Cowell, Keyonte Rogers (Jefferson)

-Brandon Folk (East)

-Reilly Hay (Sterling)

-Nicklaus Eberly (DeKalb)

-Austin Strite (Oregon)
