Rockford Police say they've arrested a man accused of robbing The Cash Store Friday evening.
Investigators say 22-year-old Joseph Lafan of Aurora walked into the store wearing a mask and armed with BB gun demanding money from the clerk. Shortly after arriving to the scene, police say they noticed the suspect fleeing the scene on foot with the cash. That's when they say they began to chase him before taking him into custody in the 300 block of 11th Street.
The Winnebago County State's Attorney's Office charged Lafan with armed robbery and resisting arrest.
Police say this is still an ongoing investigation. We will bring you updates as soon as they become available.
