UPDATE: 3-year-old boy shot during home invasion


UPDATE: Rockford Police release more details about a 3-year-old boy that was shot in Rockford.

Assistant Deputy Chief Kevin Ogden said a man broke into a home on Concord Avenue while a family was inside, walked in and fired at least one gunshot before taking off on foot. That gunshot hit a 3-year-old boy, according to Rockford Police. It's unclear how many family members were home at the time.

Police are now looking for a black male suspect, about 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds wearing a black sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police.

13 News has a team on the scene and will be providing live updates throughout the evening as new information comes in.

Rockford Police say a juvenile was shot on Rockford's west side. 

Police said it happened around 4 o'clock Thursday on the 800 block of Concord Avenue. Right now we know a young juvenile was shot and has non-life threatening injuries. Police are canvassing the area to try and figure out what happened. They did tell us no arrests have been made at this time. We'll follow this story and bring any updates when they become available.
