If you want to take over the Winnebago County Clerk's Office until the next election, time is running out.
The application deadline for the job is Monday, January 15.
County Clerk Margie Mullins is retiring before her term end. Someone needs to fill her role in the interim until the November General Election. Right now there are four applicants.None of them is on the election ballot for the position.
Mullins' last day is January 31st.
In order to qualify as an appointee, you must live in Winnebago County, be a registered voter, serve until December 3 and be a Democrat.
