Two Rockford homes shot at overnight


Rockford Police say two homes in Rockford were shot at overnight. 

The first incident happened near Sunset and Blaisdell Street around 8 p.m. Investigators say they located spent rifle rounds and noticed a home in the 600 block of N. Sunset Street was struck several times. 

Officers say 5 adults and 5 kids were inside the home at the time, but no one was injured. Police say they do not have a suspect description, but the vehicle they were driving is described as a small black four door car that fled the area south bound on Sunset Ave.

Rockford Police say another home was shot at in 400 block of N. Central Ave around midnight. 

Officers say they also found several bullet casings in the 1700 block of Andrews Street. 

Residents told police they were sleeping when they woke up to the sound of gunfire and got down on the floor. A short time later, they walked into their living room and noticed their home was struck. 

Police say no one was injured and no suspect description is available.
