The Forest City Tennis Center and the Boylan Indoor Tennis Center provided ideal court conditions for a Saturday plagued by wet weather, hosting the 1-A and 2-A boys tennis sectionals in the IHSA's first year splitting classes for the sport.
The 1-A sectional saw Belvidere North win the team title, anchored by Anderson Park's singles title and the doubles title won by Josh Cassaro and Tommy Linkenheld. Boylan's Adam Pycior and Freeport's duo of Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier and Preston Engel earned runner-up honors in singles and doubles.
The 2-A sectional at FCTC brought two Auburn Knights together for the singles final - senior Tytus Metzler defeated sophomore Quinten Nevenhoven in straight sets for the title. Hononegah won the team championship, anchored by Hsing-Hao Louh and Parker Hearne winning the doubles championship against fellow Indians Brandon Kim and Josh Euhus.
