Boylan's Bridget Bishop, Delaney Appino and Grace McLaughlin all qualified for Saturday's 2-A state track and field championship finals. Bishop qualified in both the shotput and discus. Appino and McLaughlin both qualified in the 1600M run, posting the two fastest times in Friday's prelims. The teammates will have one more race against one another in Saturday's finals. McLaughlin also qualified in the 3200M run, which has no preliminary round at state.
Other area qualifiers include Dixon's Tayla Schwarz in both the shotput and discus, along with Dixon's 4x800M relay team. Galena's Paige Christopher qualified in the 100M hurdles. Sterling has several athletes going to the finals, including its 4x800M relay team, Samantha Hibbard in the 100M hurdles, Erin Long in the 100M dash and Margaret McPherson in the 1600M run. Rochelle's 4x400M relay team also qualified for the finals.
