Stateline drivers will see some road closures this weekend due to the annual Rockford Marathon.
The marathon is this Sunday at 7 a.m. Road closures will begin at 4 a.m. Sunday and run until 2 p.m.
The race will begin and end on Wyman Street near Chestnut Street in downtown Rockford. The race covers parts of Rockford, Loves Park, Machesney Park and Winnebago County.
Marked detour routes will be in place for state roadways. Police officers will direct traffic at certain locations, such as Jefferson Street and Whitman Street, to allow traffic to cross periodically.
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes Sunday and they should be aware of the increase in pedestrian traffic.
