Local bike riders brave rain to raise money for local charity

Saturday's weather may not have looked like biking weather but that didn't stop a group of dedicated people in Rockford.

Saturday morning was the seventh annual Furryville Ride for Charity.

Members of team Fur Bandit took part in a 20-mile bike ride that started and ended at Kegel Harley-Davidson in Rockford.

The group raises money for a range of charities in the area. Saturday's fundraiser was for the Fish-Abled Foundation which helps people with disabilities attend social activities in the area for free.

While the weather wasn't great the bikers say it really didn't matter.

"Usually the weather will turn people off, but the weather is so much fun when it's raining, and it's so much fun when it's sunny. It doesn't matter,"

Around 25 people turned out for the fundraiser and the group expected to raise about a $1,000.
