Rockford's Fred VanVleet has learned to be an active student of NBA Playoff basketball, watching in the front row on the Toronto Raptors bench and engaging in the huddle during timeouts. He broke through on the scoresheet in Game 5 on Monday, putting the final touches on a 118-93 blowout victory of the Milwaukee Bucks.
VanVleet hit a corner three on his only field goal attempt, and assisted on an emphatic Norman Powell dunk to play a factor in the final two Raptors baskets of the home Game 5 win at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
Powell paced the Raptors with 25 points as all five Toronto starters scored in double figures. The Raptors lead this first round series by a 3-2 margin and can advance to the second round should they win Game 6 in Milwaukee on Thursday.
