Before snow hit the Stateline on Saturday, Boylan's boys swimming team captured the Freeport Invite title, beating Sterling and the DeKalb/Sycamore Co-Op, who finished in second and third respectively.
Freeport and Auburn rounded out the top five team finishers in the standings as the boys swim season gets going in the early weeks.
Boylan's Tyler Pidde clocked a 4:51.69 in the 500-yard freestyle relay in a key 1st play victory for the Titans. Boylan placed third in the 200-yard free relay, a team that features senior Noah Hickcox, who anchored Boylan's defense on the football field.
Caleb Carlson had a strong showing for Byron after taking swimmer of the meet honors at the Logterman Invitational at Harlem last week, winning the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley events for the Tigers.
