Tyler Barnes had a quick stay with the ECHL - he recorded a goal and four assists for the Indy Fuel before the Rockford IceHogs called him up.
Barnes brought eleven total games of AHL experience to the Hogs, but you wouldn't notice over the past week. He recorded points in three straight games, including the IceHogs' only two goals in a division matchup with Milwaukee. Barnes credits the play of his teammates opening up opportunities for him to score in new surroundings.
"Guys around me are playing really well," says Barnes. "That's helping me through this time."
"It's a roller coaster with tips and rebounds, sometimes they go in, sometimes they don't."
Bounces haven't gone the IceHogs' way of late, losing four in a row heading into a pair of division dates on Friday and Saturday. Rockford hosts Chicago on Friday at 7:00, followed by the annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday at 7:00 against Grand Rapids.
