Harlem students honor vets through documentaries

In positive local news, just one day after Veteran's Day, students and local veterans gathered at Midway Village Museum for a special documentary viewing.

It's part of the Harlem Veteran Project, where students tell the stories of war veterans through short films.

But for these veterans, it's not just about telling their story it's about preserving it for future generations.

"The stories aren't just about us, they're about all veterans. I mean they picked us for the documentaries, but it represents all the men and women who fought for our country," said Vietnam Veteran Mitch Mullins.

The Harlem Veterans Project is based at Harlem High School. Each year, students help document dozens of wartime stories.
