We are down to the final few days before election day and people in Winnebago County and Rockford now have a new place to cast their ballot before the election.
For the first time ever, the Winnebago County Clerk's Office and the Rockford Board of Elections offer early voting at the same location, 5950 E. State St.
The office opened this morning and the clerk's office says more than 500 voters already cast their ballot at the new location.
"With this new location, it doesn't matter where you live in Winnebago County, we can take care of you. It's a one-stop shop," said Margie Mullins, (D) Winnebago County Clerk.
Voters will no longer be able to cast their ballot at the Rockford Board of Elections or the Winnebago County Administration building. The State St. polling place is open all this weekend and Monday for early voting.
