Vehicle stolen in Rockford after man yells at suspects

Rockford Police are investigating a stolen vehicle, after a man was robbed outside of his home on the 600 block of Church Street.

Around 11 p.m. Wednesday, a man walked outside and saw a man inside his vehicle. After yelling out to him, the suspect turned to the man and implied he had a gun in the front pocket of his sweatshirt. He then demanded the victim's keys and wallet. Another man was hiding in the bushes and the two suspects got in the man's vehicle and drove away, driving west on Montague.

The 1998 blue, Mercury sedan was later found by Rockford Police.

Police are looking for two African-American men in their early 20's. Both are around 5'10” and 170 pounds. One man was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt. The other man was wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police or Crimestoppers.
