Tara Jepsen teaches numbers and like all elementary school teachers, she has a lot on her plate.
The St. Paul Lutheran School teacher spent the day teaching her first graders subtraction but recently she has been focused on the addition in her life.
Shes already a mother of one and in December another little one is coming. Tara Jepsen said, "A little extra excitement for this year, a baby is on the way!"
Extra excitement for this teacher at home, but there is never a dull moment for her at school. At St. Paul Lutheran Jepsen teaches first, second, third and fifth grade math. Jepsen laughs, "The only kids that I haven't taught are the kindergarten class. But otherwise I have had the kids that are in every grade level at some point."
If that wasn't enough, when the principal left two years ago, she added that position to her workload too. "I like to take on new challenges and I thought sure why not?" says Jepsen."
Even with all of that, she hasn't missed a beat.
"I don't know how she does it," Sue Wilkinson, the school secretary, said as she shook her head in disbelief. "She always keeps calm and collected. She's just a good person for this position."
No matter how Jepsen does it, her students take notice. First grader Damani Thompson smiles, "When we are in her class, we get snacks!"
Shes a teacher not short on snacks, tasks, or passion for her students.
