Organizations that challenge the state's lack of tort reform law are documenting campaign contributions made by Illinois trial lawyers.
The study, Justice for Sale III, was released by the Illinois Civil Justice League. It shows contributions to Illinois politicians and judges has topped over $35 million over the past 15 years.
The ICJL says the problems go beyond filing lawsuits in certain counties to benefit the plaintiffs: it also includes the recent supreme court decision on legislative maps.
The ICJL is made up of members from medical, businesses and the farm bureau.
