Two Rockford men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion Monday.
According to police, officers were called to an apartment in the 1400 block of Birch Court around 7:30 p.m. Monday to investigate a home invasion.
Police say a group of five people entered the apartment to confront the residents about an ongoing personal issue. Police say one of the suspects was armed with a handgun and used it to threaten others in the apartment.
After the incident the suspects fled the scene in a tan Chevrolet Suburban. No one was injured during the incident.
Officers from the Rockford Police Specialized Community Oriented Policing Enforcement (SCOPE) team located the suspect vehicle a short time later.
Two of the suspects, Rodney Toney, 21, and Samule Hill, 40, were arrested.
Toney has been charged with Home Invasion, Aggravated Assault with a Handgun, and No Firearm Owner’s Identification. Hill has been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, and No Firearm Owner’s Identification.
Both men are currently being held in the Winnebago County Jail.
