A teenage girl charged with helping to cover up the death of a 15-year-old Rockford girl was sentenced to probation Wednesday.
According to the Rockford Register Star the 16-year-old Rockford girl was sentenced to five years juvenile probation.
According to police, the girl helped 28-year-old Natheon Hanson put 15-year-old Andreah McBain's body into a large container, load it into a car and drive it to rural Stephenson County, where she told police they doused it in gasoline and lit it on fire. McBain died from a drug overdose the night before.
The teen girl pleaded guilty July 26 to charges of concealing McBain's death.
