ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting that ended with two cars crashing on Auburn Street Wednesday evening.

Rockford Police say they were called out to the intersection of Huffman Boulevard and Custer Ave. around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired. Police say the occupants of a Buick Regal were shooting a gun at another car.

A short time later police were called to a second shots fired incident near the intersection of Auburn Street and Cumberland Street.

Police say the occupants of the same Buick Regal were again shooting at another car. This incident ended with both cars crashing.

By the time officers arrived on the scene, all the suspects had fled on foot. Police were able to set up a perimeter and track down several of the suspects with the help of K-9 officers. One of the suspects was bitten by a K-9 officer.

The following people were arrested: Virgil Holland, 18, of Rockford, on aggravated discharge of a firearm, no FOID card and driving on a suspended licence charges; Tevin Gray, 20, of Rockford, on aggravated discharge of a firearm and no FOID card charges; Vincent Holland Jr., 21, of Rockford, on resisting arrest charges; and Maurice Forest, 27, of Chicago, on failure to appear charges.
