Personal Finance website WalletHub.com says its study shows Illinois among the strictest states when it comes to being tough on drivers who are cited for DUI, speeding and reckless driving.
The 2016 study on high risk drivers has Illinois ranked 7th in the nation in areas such as criminal penalties and prevention regarding DUI, along with speeding and reckless driving.
Arizona is ranked # 1 followed by Alaska, Georgia and West Virginia.
In surrounding states, Iowa is ranked 13th overall and #1 when it comes to speeding enforcement.
Missouri is #26, Indiana ranked # 30, while Wisconsin is # 41.
South Dakota is ranked last as being the least restrictive state on high risk drivers.
