Hundreds of people turn out for Rockford's "Anything that Floats" race


Hundreds of people lined the bank of the Rock River in Rockford Sunday morning to watch the Anything that Floats Race.

Participants, who built their own boats, started at Auburn Street bridge and traveled a little under 1.5 miles to Prairie Street Brewhouse.

This was the first time in more than 20 years that the race was held.

40 floats participated in the competition, including a 13 WREX boat that was steered by 13 News Anchors Sean Muserallo, Kristin Crowley and Elliot Grandia.

The Metro Insulation boat won the race and the ABF float receive the people's choice award for most creative.
