Three people are in jail after police say they allegedly broke into an apartment and tried to hurt the residents inside.
It happened around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 600 block of 7th Street in Rockford.
Police say Denise Chatman, 35, Dejanee Chatman, 18, and Dequan Anderson-Oliver, 21, broke in because of an earlier argument with the victims in the apartment.
One of the suspects allegedly sprayed a victim with pepper spray while another suspect tried to stab a victim with a kitchen knife, according to police. none of the victims were hurt and police found the suspects near the apartment.
All three are charged with home invasion and mob action.
Dejanee Chatman is also charged with aggravated assault and Anderson-Oliver is also charged with criminal damage to property.
