Neighbors we spoke with say parties are a common occurrence at the home.
One neighbor who did want to be identified said Sunday morning was "mayhem" as kids fled in all directions...diving to the ground.
Another neighbor recalled what it was like hearing the gunfire.
"We hear gunshots quite often because we have woods behind us, but nothing like this," he said. "Last night was more like a war-zone than a shooting on the street."
Police are investigating the shooting as a murder-- as they try and answer some of the questions neighbors and family members are asking.
This is the twelfth murder in the city of Rockford so far this year. Police have not released the name of the 15-year-old boy, but the two other shooting victims have been released from the hospital.
